Gemeinsame Tagung der Arbeitskreise Viruskrankheiten der Pflanzen
und
Nederlandse Kring voor Plantevirologie

November 12-13, 1998, Wageningen, Niederlande

Der Arbeitskreis Virologie hielt seine alljährliche Arbeitstagung am 12. und 13. November 1998 als gemeinsame Tagung mit dem Nederlandse Kring voor Plantevirologie in Wageningen ab. Es wurden 28 Themen und 52 Posterbeiträge zu angewandten und grundlagenorientierten Fragestellungen vorgestellt. Exkursionsmöglichkeiten bestanden wahlweise zu den Departments of Virology des IPO-DLO, des Plant Protecion Service und der Agricultural University in Wageningen.

Beide Arbeitskreise beschlossen künftig in regelmäßigen Abständen gemeinsame Tagungen auszurichten. Um Überschneidungen mit der Deutschen Pflanzenschutztagung zu vermeiden, wurde von deutscher Seite eine Einladung für die nächste gemeinsame Tagung im Jahr 2001 im Raum Köln/Bonn ausgesprochen. Vorgesehen sind Folgetagungen im vierjährigen Rhythmus. Die nationalen Arbeitskreistagungen sollen für interessierte Einzelteilnehmer aus dem jeweiligen Nachbarland offen gehalten werden. Die notwendigen Informationen werden über die jeweiligen Arbeitskreisleiter und ihre e-mail Verteiler bzw. im Internet (s.u.) bereitgestellt.

Die nächste Tagung des Arbeitskreises "Viruskrankheiten der Pflanze" wird am 9.-10. September 1999 bei der Bayerischen Landesanstalt für Bodenkultur und Pflanzenbau in Freising stattfinden. Im Jahr 2000 ist als Tagungsort die Bundesanstalt für Züchtungsforschung in Aschersleben vorgesehen.
